Myanmar's Department of Urban and Housing Development and Thailand's AMATA Corporation PCL formalized a partnership to develop the Yangon AMATA Smart & Eco City, a project aimed at creating a sustainable and technologically advanced urban center. The agreement outlines the joint development of infrastructure, logistics, and services, with the DUHD acquiring a 20% stake in the project.

This collaboration is significant as it marks a major step towards realizing Myanmar's first sustainable Smart & Eco City, promising substantial employment opportunities, poverty reduction, and capacity building for the local population. It also expands AMATA's regional footprint in industrial and urban development.
