EGAT recommissions the first unit of Chana Power Plant Block 2 ahead of schedule after flood damage, enhancing southern Thailand's power stability.
EGAT has successfully brought the first unit of the Chana Power Plant Block 2 back into commercial operation on January 10, 2026, ahead of its planned schedule, following damage from late 2025 floods.
This early restoration significantly strengthens the electricity supply in Southern Thailand and reduces the region's reliance on temporary backup power sources.
