The Ministry of Energy, in collaboration with the Office of Atoms for Peace, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology, and EGAT, initiated a project to educate provincial energy officials across Thailand on Small Modular Reactor (SMR) power plant development, with the first phase held in the northern region. This program aims to enhance the capacity of provincial energy officials to accurately convey information about SMRs to local communities.

This initiative is crucial for building public understanding and acceptance of nuclear energy as Thailand explores diverse power generation options. Empowering local officials ensures consistent and accurate information dissemination, which is vital for future energy policy and project development.
