The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) has opened an additional registration period for its Utility Green Tariff Type 1 (UGT1) service for 2026, announcing a premium rate of 0.0375 baht per unit. This service provides green electricity along with I-REC standard Renewable Energy Certificates to help businesses reduce their indirect greenhouse gas emissions.

This initiative aligns with government policy to promote green energy adoption, attract foreign investment, and enhance the global competitiveness of Thai industries as they move towards carbon neutrality.
