The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) has launched an additional registration period for its Utility Green Tariff Type 1 (UGT1) service for the third quarter of 2026. This initiative aims to provide businesses with green electricity and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to support their sustainability goals.

This service is crucial for enhancing the competitiveness of Thai businesses in the global market by enabling them to claim renewable energy use and reduce Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions. It also aligns with government policies to attract foreign investment and achieve carbon neutrality.
